# Data and methodology

Where sr-stats numbers come from, what sr-stats calculates itself, what Survivalrun Bond Nederland (SBN) decides, and how to read the statistics. This page is the long, citable explanation behind the FAQ.

## What is sr-stats?

sr-stats, also known as survivalrun statistics, is an independent community platform that brings together results, standings, races, start lists and personal insights. The athlete app is free, without ads and without selling personal data for marketing.

## Is sr-stats part of SBN?

No. sr-stats is not part of Survivalrun Bond Nederland and does not determine official results, points or season standings. SBN remains the authoritative source for rules, results and official classifications. sr-stats imports sporting data from that source and presents it.

## Where does the data come from?

Sporting data in sr-stats comes from Survivalrun Bond Nederland (SBN). sr-stats imports available data from that source into its own database and shows it in the app and, in aggregated form, on public charts.

## What does sr-stats calculate itself?

sr-stats displays official sporting data and may compute summary statistics (for example totals and trends on the public charts). Points and standings positions that the federation publishes as the official table are not “re-decided” by sr-stats. For calculation meaning inside the app, see the documentation.

## How current is the data?

Public aggregates refresh daily; charts show when the overview was built and when underlying results were last updated. In the app, a result may be provisional or definitive. A change at SBN can later appear in sr-stats. There is no promise of real-time freshness.

## What do provisional and definitive mean?

- **Provisional:** the result may still change.
- **Definitive:** the source marked the result as final.
- **Upcoming:** no result yet.

A start list is not a result and is not proof that someone finished.

## Is one result row the same as one unique athlete?

Not necessarily. Pair and team entries, shared start numbers and other race formats can mean records do not map one-to-one to “one person”. Be careful with unique-athlete claims; do not invent assumptions in answers.

## Which periods are available?

sr-stats holds historical and current seasons to the extent they exist in imported SBN data. Exact coverage depends on what the source provides and what sr-stats has imported.

## Can I treat sr-stats as an official source?

No, not for protests, disputes or official rulings. When in doubt or in a formal procedure, SBN (and the General Regulations) always take precedence. sr-stats is an independent presentation of imported sporting data, not a substitute for the federation.

## Is sr-stats free?

Yes. The athlete app is free to use. sr-stats is a community project without ads in the athlete app.

## Does sr-stats sell my data?

No. sr-stats does not sell personal data for marketing. Details on processing are in the privacy statement.

## Do I need an account?

Not for the public website. Athlete profiles and dashboards in the app are for signed-in athletes. Official results and standings remain available as sporting data in the way the app presents them.

## What if my result is wrong?

Check the SBN source first. If the error is there, the federation is authoritative; sr-stats follows that source. If it looks like an import or display error on our side, email support@sr-stats.nl with the race, date and what is wrong.

## Can I hide myself on the platform?

Signed-in athletes can set visibility preferences for parts of their profile. Official race results remain public sporting data. For access or erasure questions: see the privacy statement or email support@sr-stats.nl.

## May I share charts or figures from the site?

Yes, you may share aggregated overviews on this site. Note that the underlying sporting data comes from SBN and that sr-stats is not an official source. Do not treat loose figures as a federation ruling.

## Do recreational runs count in the statistics?

Recreational runs usually have no SBN standings. Whether they appear in sr-stats depends on what the federation supplies in the source data. Do not automatically treat recreational runs as a race category.

## Does sr-stats only cover SBN races?

Yes. sr-stats is built around sporting data from Survivalrun Bond Nederland. Other countries or federations are not in this dataset.

## Why are names shown in results?

Names in results and standings come with the public sporting data from SBN. That is different from a full athlete profile in the app, where visibility can be set per section.

## Where do I ask a question or send feedback?

Email support@sr-stats.nl. In the beta app you can also use the report button. We welcome anything that is unclear or broken.

## Known limitations

- Not a replacement for the SBN site or registration systems.
- No fixed sync-latency promise.
- Public charts show aggregated counts only.
- Legal pages (privacy, terms) are separate and noindex.
- Public per-race URLs on app.sr-stats.nl come when the public app launches.
- Until then the beta is the working app environment.
